The Survey on feasibility of establishing Savings and Credit Cooperatives in the Republic of Moldova
This report presents the outcomes of a survey, whose main objective was to make an analysis of the feasibility of creating Savings and Credit Cooperatives in the Republic of Moldova. The need for the survey appeared due to the imperative of evaluating the existence and size of the demand for long-term micro credit products on the local financial markets and SME access to microfinance services. At the same time, the research had been carried out for providing support to the working group Development of financial services for SME in assessing the current situation with respect to the offer and demand for microcredit products, which may not be covered by commercial banks, savings and credit associations and other non-banking institutions. An essential aspect of this survey is the analysis of the degree of Moldovan SMEs’ preparedness for SCC instituting.
